GridPlay started out in 2017 as a group of groups in Second Life that both Venkellie and Sweetdebbie co-own together. Such groups include Rail & Train Center (Rtcsl) and Debbie's Airport (Slda). By the time GridPlay was formed Ven already had a walkie talkie system in the works which she then released as Ventalkie and Wmps which is a web map position hud system
